Safety Online
It's Friday thank God!!No homework!!
Over the past two weeks we have been learning about keeping ourselves safe online. The first lesson we learned was not to give out personal information. We were givin a sheet and we had to fill out our information on it such as name, age, address etc...When we were finished our teacher took us outside and stuck it on the front gate of our school. She told us by giving out our information on the internet it is just like putting our information on a sheet and leaving it there for everbody to see.
Our second lesson was looking up things on the internet. When you type down something on google or any other search station you will get lots of links. We were told always read the information under each link to make sure it is suitable or it matches what we are looking for. Do u know on your search station you can click preferences and then chose strict access to make sure only apporiate things come up.
We watched a video of two characters called Fionn and Niamh explaining to us about usernames and chatting on line.It got really annoying as each thing took a long time to load. At the end of the lesson the girls and the boys made two groups and each group had five minutes to create a story line for the drama about chatting online.My group used a box and pretended it was a computer and there was a group at one side laughing and giggling and one girl at the other side believing that she had won a prize and was to meet a courier to collect her prize at the roundabout.We used a round table for the roundabout then we bundled her into our van (couch) and the teacher said it was very clever and we had great fun.
